Outside The Front Door

Sometimes I think we can’t make it
Sometimes I think we’re all alone
Not often sure what’s going on here
Who is my friend or foe

So I sit in my room late at night
Listening to the world outside
I hear the screams, I hear the sirens
And here I hide behind closed doors
Trying to block out the noise
I cover my ears yet still these tears

The world outside is at war
We chose to ignore
What’s going on outside the front door
Outside the front door

Seems to me there’s a need to change
In our lives today
It’s up to us to heal the difference
In this world of pain

So I sit in my room late at night
Listening to the world outside
I hear the screams, I hear the sirens
And here I hide behind closed doors
Cos’ I can’t take this anymore
For all I want is some silence

So I sit in my room late at night
Listening to the world outside
I hear the screams, I hear the sirens
And here I hide behind closed doors
Still trying to block out the noise
And all I want is some peace now

Yet I sit in my room at night
Listening to the world outside
Still here the screams and the sirens
And here I hide behind closed doors
Try to block out this noise
I cover my ears yet still there’s tears
